Company Searches

A company search is required when the vendor is a company or in the case when the property being sold is an apartment as the management company will need to be searched against. It is vital that searches should be carried out against real time Company Office data and a careful review of the documents listed on the company report, and the status of such documents is undertaken.  A charge (C1) against the company may be listed as “received” by the CRO but not yet registered.

On the purchase of a new house it is important that a company office search should be done against the builder as well, to determine, in particular, if the property is subject to a charge
